Morning Hikes
 

The hikes cover a variety of terrain throughout the Santa Monica Mountains. Guests hike Monday through Saturday, rain or shine, through some of the most beautiful trails in America. 

 

Hike Sites Can Inlcude

 

  • Point Dume

  • Leo Carrillo

  • Back Bone Trail (Mash Site)

  • Solstice Canyon

  • Zuma Ridge

 

Hikes last for about 2 hours and range in difficulty from completely flat trails to rolling hills. Furthermore, the footphaths can vary from a wide fire road to a more rocky single track trail. 

Fitness Training
 

The Wellfit Malibu training program is designed with your end-goal in mind. The trainers have years of experience inspiring individuals to focus on healthy long-term goals. We believe that by both educating our guests on the "why" behind every workout, consistently training them in form and function, they will be best prepared to continue with an effective wortkout routine when they return home. Whether you have never stepped into a gym before or you are a seasoned athlete who is looking for a challenge, Wellfit Malibu will work at your level.

Wellness Education
 

Our mission is sustainable health. We don’t just want you to have a good time and see results while here at the resort, we also want you to be equipped with the knowledge and tools needed to continue successful healthy living at home when you leave. Our educational series has been mindfully created by health professionals to meet those needs. It is based around five main components.

 

  •  Knowledge: we strive to provide the most up-to-date, research-based information regarding nutrition, fitness, and overall health.

  • Awareness: we work with guests to help them recognize cues from their bodies that tell them when they need to eat, sleep, be active, etc.

  • Assessment: we help guests evaluate their current lifestyles and individual situations, in addition to identifying sources of support and accountability, in order to determine the most realistic approach for their success.

  • Planning: we help and encourage guests to set realistic short and long term goals.

  • Reflection: we guide guests through the process of reflecting on their past and current goals, successes and failures, and related emotions to help identify any barriers to future success.

 

Our interactive classes are led by qualified health experts such as registered dietitians, certified nutritionists, certified health and life coaches, certified trainers, and executive chefs. Topics we cover often include energy needs and portion control, label reading, intuitive eating, meal planning, cooking demos, high intensity vs low intensity exercise, strength training, and a life coaching series.

Nutrition
 

Guests enjoy delicious cuisine meals daily, including breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner with dessert.  Created by an experienced team of world-class executive chefs and registered dietitians, each delicious calorie controlled meal features top quality ingredients, in just the right nutritious balance of proteins, carbohydrates and healthy fats. The menu is tailored to provide the body and mind the nutrition it needs for physical and mental challenges throughout your stay at Wellfit Malibu. All menu options can be fully customized for allergies, and other dietary restrictions.

 

Menu Items Can Include:

 

  • Breakfast: Scrambled eggs with toast and avocado, protein smoothie, oatmeal with fruits, yogurt parfait

  • Lunch: Lettuce wrapped sirloin burger, chicken tostadas, shrimp fajitas, turkey meatloaf

  • Snacks: Protein smoothie, apple with peanut butter, carrots and string cheese, hard-boiled egg

  • Dinner: Salad, Grilled Salmon with quinoa, ham with date and orange glaze, vegetable lasagna, and margarita steak.

  • Desserts: Chocolate covered strawberries, apple cobbler, fruit compote, key lime pie

 

Soup is served with lunch entrees, and there is an open salad bar at both lunch and dinner. Extra veggies may be requested at any meal.

 

Food allergies and diet restrictions can be accommodated upon request.

 

Please note that we do not serve coffee (or other caffeinated beverages), carbonated beverages (including diet sodas), or alcohol at the resort.

Life Coaching and Relaxation Time

 

At Wellfit, we not only care about your fitness, but also about the health of your mind and spirit. Therefore, in addition to the fantastic hikes, workouts, and wellness education we offer, there is also plenty of free time and scheduled social activities to provide opportunities for relaxation and bonding with other Wellfit guests. We understand the importance of working hard as well as having fun!

In the evenings, our experienced life coach creates an intimate space for the guests to talk about their goals and struggles, while also guiding them through thought-provoking curriculum to help them dig deeper and reach for success. Guests are inspired to develop new patterns for their life through education, support, and accountability.

During leisure time, guests are often found playing cards or ping pong, relaxing by the pool, or conversing in one of our beautiful common areas. Every Friday night we offer music around the fire pit led by a group of local musicians. Guests can join in or just sit back and enjoy the show!

Those who come to Wellfit Malibu, leave with a refreshed body, mind, and spirit; and often a few new friends too.
